This volcanic island lies around155 miles away from northeastern Tahiti. This island is over seven million years old. This main island is around 3 miles wide and 6 miles long. A mountain chain dominates its central region. Bora Bora is actually has two more islands called Toopua and Toopua Iti. These islands are separated by a lagoon that lies between them.The climate of Bora Bora is tropical. During November to April, the island receives most of its rain. The temperature remains around 27 degrees C to 30 degrees C during these months. The peak tourist season is from May to October. These months mostly stay dry and temperature remains between 24 degrees C and 28 degress C.
Economy of this small island is almost entirely based on tourism. Most locals are related to the tourism industry in one way or another. This is one of the most expensive places in the world as everything from food to cloth is imported.
Living standards of locals is not very high, but most people earn good living and stay comfortably on this beautiful island.
