Dubrovnik, was given the name "the Pearl of the Adriatic" by Lord Byron. Dubrovnik is a city located on the Adriatic Sea coast in the extreme south of Croatia. It is located at the terminal end of the Isthmus of Dubrovnik. Tourists even love this place as it is one of the most stand out destinations on the Adriatic. Dubrovnik is a seaport and the center of Dubrovnik-Neretva county. The prosperity of this city has always been based on maritime trade.
- Rectors Palace - Rectors Palace is one of the most prominent places in Dubrovnik. Even though this place was harshly attacked by gun powder and was even struck by an earthquake tremor, it still glorifies its beauty as ever.
- Maritime museum - Although there are many great museums to visit but the most eye-catching of all is Maritime museum.
- Art Gallery - Another must visit place is Dubrovnik’s Art Gallery. It houses a profusion of pieces. It also includes many galleries.
- Lokrum - It is an island which is interestingly known as 'the island of Love'. Even though it is a little island where one can enjoy thoroughly all through the day, It has a small lake in the center for sun revelers and swimmers to enjoy. The external boundary is covered in enclaves of rocks which are suitable for swimming. You will find that at the center of the island, there is a a fortified place and church where many functions are held such as weddings, etc. The surroundings are of love filled gardens Roman style.
- Elafiti islands - Elafiti islands is a place, which gives the tourists a great discernment into the island life here in Dubrovnik. You can even swim along the Lopud, fish picnic, etc which would add to your fun time.- Mljet - Abeautiful island which is highly recommended if you are visiting Dubrovnik. Mljet is a protected nature reserve, because of its unique natural beauty and wildlife. Mljet gives the facility of two land locked Lakes which are surrounded by hills covered in lush vegetation. You can also try taking a hike on one of the beautiful hills and with that you can even enjoy the exciting panorama.
- Korcula - Korcula is described as a 'mini Dubrovnik'. It is an ideal holiday place itself. Korcula has a great atmosphere which is mainly because it is so very deeply associated with Marko Polo. - Other activities - Other famous activities carried out here are fishing, sailing, hiking & climbing, and hunting. Dubrovnik's folk singing festivals make the people here proud. Classical concerts here are held even in the outdoors which is also an event to enjoy.
With a range, which might not satisfy everyone, is need but still would cater to the need of almost everyone. Atlas Club Nautika is a touristique. Many other hotels even have a wide variety such as Dubrovacki Kantun, Ekvinocijo Konoba, Fresh, Kamenice, Proto, Sesame, etc. Some special restaurants here cater to the need of a limited population such as Lokanda Peskarija, which is a seafood place in the old port. Orhan is another restaurant, which is situated on a quiet cove just outside the Pile Gate, but is a less-expensive alternative for those who want to have an recommended cuisine.
