Milford is New Zealand’s largest city. It is also a suburb of Auckland. There is a popular swimming beach which runs two kilometers from Black rock in south to Castor Bay in north. Currently, Milford is part of the North shore electorate.

Geography and Climate:

The Milford sound runs 15 kilometer inland from Tasman sea. It is surrounded by sheer rock faces all around. The Elephant is the tallest peak available. This part of the world receives a mean annual rainfall of about 6813 mm on 182 days a year. So conditions are pretty wet in nature. Due to this much rain, portions of rainforest loose their grip and landslides do occur. Here, rainfall can reach 250 mm within a span of 24 hours. An unique fact about this forest is that the rainfall creates a dozen of smaller waterfalls.
