But, it's not just the old that attracts visitors. Modern Rome offers a plethora of designer shopping, a host of fantastic restaurants and cafes - many al fresco - and a glittering night life. And, of course there's the unique independent Vatican City, home to the Pope, situated at the heart of the city.

Indeed, it is the intoxicating mix of old and new, and the unique culture of the Romans that attracts most people to this marvellous city!
