Great city. Not much to see, except surroundings oil palm fields and temples’. Temples are worth making a trip if you’re driving by it, on high way. They’re build in to a mountains. The surrounding area is basically park. You have to take at least a day to go through them. Depends on your interest and “climbing” ability – you can climb the stairs and reach the top of the mountain. In dinner time you can find good food. Ipoh is knows throughout Malaysia, as second best right after Penang. Best to visit food court where you can get tasty food from different “restaurants” on the same place. Try to find the ones that are visited by local people. Must to see is weekly night market which is every night on different place. There you can get everything from clothes to something to eat. Town center is not much, but if you’re staying in Ipoh you can go and take a look. Night life is behind Jusco shopping center. In the city you can find great massage salons, but keep in mind that this is Muslim country – meaning you will probably get massage from male. Over all … Chinese temples’ and oil palms (red soil) – 1 day trip.
